[ Mood: Shocked ]
[ Reading Twelve Red Herrings - Jeffrey Archer Currently: Reading Twelve Red Herrings - Jeffrey Archer ]

Hi everyone,

How is everything? I just woke up and feeling pretty good. 1Happy

I received a mail from a friend (who lives in India) that one of my friend's dad has passed away. It made me very sad because we were pretty close friends.

Onto the brighter side of the entry...
So, last night i went to see "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" with couple of friends and must say that it was a pretty good movie. Some of the battle scenes reminded me of "Lord of the Rings Trilogy" though, they had almost the same kind of setting. Two stories:
1.) When the witch killed the lion, one of the kids started crying loudly and it was hilarious! I know you're probably thinking that i'm a horrible person, but that's not true. It was very unexpected.
2.) Around the end of the movie, in the war, the theater encountered some technical difficulties due to which the screen just went black for like 5 minutes. Since battles are always fun to watch, everyone was pretty pissed. The movie started playing after like 3 minutes, but it didn't play from where we left and basically we missed the entire 3 minutes which aggravated me. We were just getting comfortable when the same thing happened and it was even longer. We got furious and almost walked out of there to ask for our money back or something, but we waited. After about 7 minutes, the movie came back and it was normal for rest of the movie. Afterwards, i asked my friends if they wanted to go ask for reciprocation, but none of them were willing to ask. So, i went to the manager and explained the situation to him. He asked for our tickets and then went to his office. He came back with free movie passes for each of us. Remember, in America, whenever you have to complain about something or need to have a return on something, ALWAYS go straight to the manager. Never ever ask one of the employees for the same thing because of the two reason: they don't know much so most likely they'll just say "Sorry" and let you go and second, they don't care! Managers, on the other hand, get scared because if he hadn't done anything, there's a chance that i could go talk/write to someone who is superior to him and he could have gotten in lots of trouble. So, instead of making it a big deal, they'll always either pay your money back or give something of the equal value. So yeah, that was pretty exciting. Now that we have another movie to watch, we're thinking about going to see "King Kong" tonight, but nothing's for sure. So, let's see how it turns out!

Few other movies that i saw:
The Interpreter: Pretty good movie, ending wasn't as good but overall watchable movie.
2 Fast 2 Furious: Yes, i wacthed it again!
Kicking and Screaming: Enh..some good parts. Will Ferrel was kinda obnoxious but other that, kids were pretty funny.
Christmas With the Kranks: Some funny parts, overall okay movie. My parents and sister liked it very much, so definitely the kind of movie that your parents would like also...lol
Shall We Dance?: Not my kind of movie, so i didn't like it very much but again, rest of my family liked it a lot, so yeah...
Chocolate: Besides the fact that it's EXACTLY like "The Usual Suspects," the movie was well-made. I hate when they do make the ditto copy of a Hollywood movie. Sometimes, they'd change some things but Chocolate was a disappointment just because it was soo similar. Same start, same ending, even same dialouges. How ridiculous is that?
Apharan: Started out good and ended not as good. Okay movie though...
Deewane Huye Paagal: Few funny parts. Don't even think it's a sequel to "Awara Paagal Deewana." They are in NO way related to each other. The only thing that's same is that On Puri is Don in both of them and his role is only for like 30 minutes of the movie, in the start and in the end. I came to realize that Akshay Kumar is actually better in comedy roles than action/serious roles. Same goes for Aamir Khan. Don't you agree?
The Last of the Mohicans: Great movie...a must watch!
Kingdom of Heaven: Good movie but pretty boring at the same time..
Stealth: Good for timepass...okay movie. Jessica Biel is the only reason i watched it! ;)

I have been watching some episodes of "The Office" [American version] and certainly it's not even nearly as good as the British version. British version of "The Office" has to be the funniest T.V. show ever made! I would highly recommend you watch it if you ever get a chance. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Christmas break is going okay, i guess. I have been doing nothing but sleeping, eating, reading (yes, i do read!) and watching numerous movies! It's a lot of fun until your parents get mad at you for not doing anything else.
Well, i was going to write more, but i guess i'll do it some other time...

Enjoy a quote from "The Simpsons":

Marge: Homer, the plant called. They said if you don't show up tomorrow don't bother showing up on Monday.
Homer: Woohoo!! Four-day weekend!
