[ Listening to Bas Ek Pal - Bas Ek Pal Currently: Listening to Bas Ek Pal - Bas Ek Pal ]

Bas Ek Pal is such an amazing song! I am love with that soundtrack except "Dheemey Dheemey" song, which is okay, but not as great as other numbers. Hopefully, Vivek-Philip & Mithoon will release more incredible soundtracks.

This entry actually belong for Monday, September 4th:

It’s been an interesting day. In order for you to “enjoy” the completely, I must provide some details and background regarding past week. One of my good friends came back to hometown on Saturday. My friend and I had plans of going to see him because we had not seen him in quite a long time and he rarely comes home. I have today off for ‘Labor Day.’ That makes it a 3-day weekend. There was a significant college football game on Saturday which, of course, involved my college. Not having a car, I desperately sought for a ride back home. My friend has a car but he decided to stay for the game and thus for the weekend because there’s no point going home just for a day and come back. Since there was no possible way I could come home, my parents made plans of traveling to Michigan to see my uncle. Following the victorious match, my friend decided to go home as we both didn’t want to let down our close friend. I had keys to home, so it wouldn’t have been a problem for me to find a place to stay. Thus, we embarked on our trip yesterday afternoon and arrived in town at evening. Following the arrival, we hung out with out friend and his family and then I came back home pleased. I forgot to mention that keys I have is only of the back door and not of the front. It is a double-lock system, so I can lock the door from the inside, leave and wouldn’t need to use the key to lock the door from the outside. Since my parents left, they double-locked every door in the house.

This morning, I decided to present a surprise to my parents by mowing the lawn so my dad wouldn’t have to mow it upon return. I put on my gym shorts, under-shirt and shoes. Gym shorts are quite short and don’t have any pockets. I opened the garage and closed the door behind me. I realized that I had forgotten the oil for the lawn mower. I proceed towards to the door and tried to turn the door knob…tried really hard. I have locked myself out! First thing that came to my mind was “No freakin’ way!” At that point, It is only human’s natural tendency to keep trying to open the door as the door knob will magically turn and the lock will be unlocked. I could not believe what had happened. My friend was supposed to pick me up in 4 hours and we were to go back to college. Series of questions occurred during that time:
“Can I survive without laptop for 4 days? “Yes.”
“Can I survive without cell phone for 4 days?” “Hardly, it can be managed somehow.”
“Can I survive without my college ID for 4 days?” “It’s a bit risky but still possible.”
“Can I survive without money for 4 days?” “Yes, possibly.”
“Can I survive without my Calculus and Organic Chemistry books? “Possibly.”
“Can I survive without my room keys for 4 days?” “No.”

There was the problem. Even though I could ask my roommates for keys each time, I think it would have a huge ordeal considering none of our classes match and I would have to completely depend on them. So, cutting the story short, I went to my neighbor’s place, called parents, they told me call a locksmith from Yellow Book. He came and fixed the lock. So, it was an interesting day, I learned few things, pondered about few. It’s weird that it happened because as I was closing the door, I was just thinking that mom shouldn’t worry too much about me because I am fully capable of taking responsibility and living up to it. I am afraid I was wrong, and I am not so grown, after all. No matter how old you get, you will always be younger and inexperienced compare to your parents. I pity those people who are insolent to their parents.

Fantasy Football starts today! FINALLY!

[Bart becomes Marge's partner in Tennis at the last minute]
Homer: It's obvious what's happening. I'm being replaced by a younger, more in-your-face version of me.
Lisa: Dad, you're just going through a classic Oedipal anxiety. You remember the story of Oedipus, don't you?
Homer: Well, maybe five bucks would refresh my memory.
Lisa: [sighs] Oedipus killed his father and married his mother.
Homer: Eugh! Who pays for that wedding?
Lisa: I'm just saying you feel threatened by Bart, but it's all in your head.
Homer: You're right. But just to be safe, maybe I should chain him up.
Lisa: Dad, I think you're overreacting.
Homer: I think you're under-reacting.
Lisa: This session's over.
Homer: This session's under.
Lisa: Good-bye! [leaves]
Homer: Bad-bye!

[ Mood: Very Sad ]
[ Listening to Yeh Jo Desh Hai Tera - Swades Currently: Listening to Yeh Jo Desh Hai Tera - Swades ]

Ahh...soo many thoughts swimming in my mind, trying to escape out into the free world, but they have no choice except to suffer due to my indolence.

First of all, I would like to commemorate all the innocent victims of train bombings in Bombay, which proved to be yet another cowardly act by terrorists or militant groups. When will all this stop? When will there be an ultimate peace? When will people realize that war/violence is not the solution? Despite being an extreme optimist, I can only admit that ultimate peace may never betide in our lifetime. So much sufferance and chaos spreading in the world and I can only do so much. It makes me sad, very sad. That brings me to the next point. When ‘Ya Ali’ makes me happy and somehow provides a warm and relaxed feeling, ‘Yeh Jo Desh Hai Tera’ makes me sad and very emotional. It makes me cry, every time I listen to it. It has so many meanings to it, especially if you’re away from your home and the loved ones. This song incited me even more after watching a video that was featured on Google Videos. Unfortunately, I am unable to share the video with you since it has been deleted by the user. I am searching it every five minutes hopelessly hoping that somehow it will be found in the archives. The video had 'Yeh Jo Desh Hai Tera' song in the background and contained a compilation of pictures of people who live proudly in India in spite of being really poor and still managing to seek happiness and satisfaction. It made me think...a lot. The video is so brilliantly made that it will make you cry. It's depressing as we rarely think of those subjects in our busy and fast-paced lifestyles. I wish I could see it again as a mean of motivation to constitute more on this matter...

On to the brighter portion of the entry...(these will mostly be random thoughts)

The trip to NJ/NY was of course an unsatisfactory and short one, as I presumed. Took a lot of pictures and visited few places, although not as many as I desired. I would like to add more, but don't have the inspiration...

Anyway, I was reading the contents of ‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects’ CD, and came across the list of singers. Alisha Chinai (or Chinoy or Chinnoy; remember her from widely-acclaimed ‘Made in India’ album?) sung two of the songs, ‘Allah Bachaye’ and the remix version of ‘Bad Boys.’ I used to be a huge fan of ‘Made in India’ song and having adequate time in hand, I decided to search her latest achievements in the Entertainment Industry. In process, I stumbled upon her latest picture...I could hardly believe my eyes.

She progressed from to to

I just stared at the laptop screen for about a minute or so...

Well, I want to write more, as always, but i must get some sleep instead of enduring a painful headache at 6 in the morning. Later, fellow readers!

Leaving with a quote from 'The Simpsons':

Bart: Dad, what's a Muppet?
Homer: Well, it's not quite a mop, not quite a puppet, but man...So, to answer you question...I don't know!

[ Listening to Teri Yaadon Mein [Remix] - The Killer Currently: Listening to Teri Yaadon Mein [Remix] - The Killer ]

Since i am feeling indolent, i will copy/paste the discussion that occured on between me and two guys on 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' thread on IMDb. These have not been modified in any way. My username is 'airabhinav.' For those who care to read, here it is:

============================================================

Chiragkhagram:

if u think karan johar films hav no purpose can u pls name me a bollywood film (or even a hollywood film 4 dat matta) which actually HAD purpose dat was released in 2006! all damn films are made 2 entertain and im sorry...but half of bollywood films seem like dey wer made from d back of a truck...appreciate wen directors spend 3 years making a film perfect rather dan trashy!...

i do expect u 2 name me a film which had purpose...i dont think u will b able 2!

AirAbhinav (Me):

Ok chiragkhagram, face the truth: Karan Johar makes same-old-hackneyed-boring-family-crap with multi-starrers and good songs. Only reason his lame movies become hit is solely because of the casts and songs. Seriously, how can you consider his work 'perfect'? It's immensely flawed and staled. Oh, and just because some director spent three years in making a movie doesn't mean it has to be good and appreciated.

Since you're so curious to know, here are few Hollywood and Bollywood movies that do serve a purpose:
Requiem for a Dream
City of God
The Shawshank Redemption
Brokeback Mountain
Fire
Water
Page 3
Rang De Basanti
Good Night and Good Luck
V for Vendetta
American History X
Crash

You need more?

P.S. - Grow up and stop using 'd' instead of 'the' or '2' instead of 'to' and other cut-off words...it makes you sound immature and stupid.

anytime_partytime:

yep we do more names if u think srkz movies are bad y iz he da king khan y iz he da most expensive actor y do all directors want to cast him in their movies y does he have billions of fans around da world y does a movie become a hit or even a super hit with him just for a bout 5 mins duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh think b4 u say ppl aint gd enough
brokeback mountain do u really like gay cowboy movies?
v fir vendetta arent u tired of the same comic heros?
american history do we really need to know that?
Water that was good
crash do we really care if its crash or anything else?
so dont think karan johar makes movies for no reason he makes dem coz he believes in wat he is doing so b4 posting a hate comment think arent ppl allowed to do wat ever they want in this world if terriost can attack nations then why cant KARAN JOHAR make a love story movie and he is work aint perfect oh come on grow up no ones perfect
and rang de basanti was good but i just think we are fed up wid amir khan dieing in each of his movies come on his movies are gd but SRK RULEZ

P.S everyone uses wat ever they want if its d instead of the or 2 instead of to so do u have a problem in tht unless u are a english teacher trying to correct someone so just dont be stupid and immature and dont curse no one wats da point u wont benefit anything from it so be it chiragkhagram or anyone they have da right to do wat ever they feel like just like karan johar

take care

AirAbhinav (Me):

Anytime_partytime, i hate to say this, but you are a complete moron. Please PLEASE watch the movies before even attempting to denounce them in anyway.

Since we are on the topic, let's begin with my suggested movies:
Brokeback Mountain: There's nothing wrong with watching gay cowboys movies. If you so abhor gays and can't stand to watch movies related to them, then you are very close-minded and have no generalized view of the world. Watch it and TRY to get the deeper meaning of the movie, it's not just about the gays, it tells the emotional story of love and how it is a solely significant thing, no matter the gender or same sex or opposite sex. There's a bigger picture that you need to comprehend. Just because it conveys the emotional and sad movies about gays, doesn't mean only gays are allowed to watch it. It delivers the message regarding to the cruelty of the society. It is currently happening in this world and you would have to accept it, so start accepting it!

V for Vendetta: Comic heroes? Again, maybe TRY to look at the bigger picture? Did you even realize for a second how they portrayed the influence of government and its effects on the general public? Do you know what it means when they say "People should not be afraid of the Government, Government should be afraid of the people?" If you watch this kind of movie just for violence, then no wonder you like Karan Johar's movies...take the main context out of a movie, and the movie becomes pointless.

American History X: Okay, i know for certain that you have NOT seen this movie, or even heard about it. I am guessing that your statement "Do we really need to know that" is subjected towards American History...and i know i am right. Well, let me hit you with some knowledge...'American History X' is one of the saddest and eye-opening movies i have ever come across. It makes you think (wait, i don't think you are capable of that...but still) and realize that racism is inevitable but one must still do his/her best to resolve the issue, as it won't be solved by merely one person.

Crash: Same as 'American History X'...i know you haven't seen it. Sad and thought-provoking racism-oriented movie at its best...

Rang De Basanti: Fed up with Aamir Khan dying (yeah, that is the right spelling...)? Is that all you were able to derive from the movie? Did you realize that their main intention was to spread across the message regarding the politicians of India and their effect on youth and many other people related? Seriously, you are lame! Also, you are fed up with the death of Aamir Khan, huh? Ok, let's see, off the top of my head, Aamir Khan has died in Fanaa, Rang De Basanti, Mangal Pandey and Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. Let's check on Shahrukh Khan...Darr, Anjaam, Baazigar, Dil Se, Ram Jaane, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Devdas...hmm, i don't know about you, but i'm pretty sure Shahrukh has outright topped Aamir by about 3 movies. You don't seem bored and whine about his death...again, know what you're writing about before implementing on it and most importantly, just think...please. It's funny because you wanted ME to think before i said anything...ahh, you portray fine example of hypocrisy at its best.

Now that i am done excelling that argument, let's go to SRK and Karan Johar.

First of all, i did not say a word about Shahrukh Khan, but since you have brought it up, i must admit that i don't like him. I liked his acting only from his first few movies like Baazigar, Anjaam, Darr, Deewana, when he was at the rising point of his career. I also liked Swades but that was because of the plot, not because of SRK. Now, answer to all your questions is Shahrukh's looks. For the last couple of years, he's considered a hearthrob and audiences love his movies just because he is in it (you have mentioned that too...i hope you realize that it's pretty dumb to think that way). People just love to love his movies because some melodramtic promotioners liven up the hype and it follows the technique of if-you-love-bollywood-you-have-to-like-SRK, so people MAKE themselves like him. What is this world coming to? When movies should be appreciated for the material, direction, style of portrayal, plot, it's been cherished due to the popularity of few actors...

Quote:
so dont think karan johar makes movies for no reason he makes dem coz he believes in wat he is doing so b4 posting a hate comment think arent ppl allowed to do wat ever they want in this world if terriost can attack nations then why cant KARAN JOHAR make a love story movie and he is work aint perfect oh come on grow up no ones perfect.

You may not be aware but there are things called punctuation marks that include commas, periods, apostrophes...you would know about them too if you had been attending your english or any other classes and not failing all of them. Anyway, I agree that no one's perfect and people have every liberty to do what they desire, but not everyone has to like it. Wow, you made me laugh out loud by using that 'terrorist' example; Thanks, i needed that laugh after all the anger that was raged due to your nonsensical statement and fabricated claims. I can't believe that you actually used that sleazy example...enough said.

P.S.: What i could gather from your writing, i must remind you again that commas, periods, apostrophes and things of that sort do exist and appears that you can use some of them (trust me, they won't haunt you in night when you're sleeping with daddy and mommy...). Also, it isn't essential that only english teachers have the ability to correct your childish statements...and what if i said that i was a English techer, would you change you style? I don't think so, thus stop coming up with lame excuses to prove that you're right.

P.P.S: It's okay if you don't reply, i will understand that you were too busy crying in your mommy's arms or getting immensely drunk at some trashy party. Take it easy, man..or should i say, 'Tk it ez man' (notice the absence of punctuation marks...thought you might need some help figuring that one out...)

[ Mood: Neutral ]
[ Listening to Ya Ali - Pritam - Gangster Currently: Listening to Ya Ali - Pritam - Gangster ]

After almost three months of silence, I have been somehow inspired to resume writing again. I’m not certain whether this motivation will be persistent or not, but we’ll see.

I’m currently on my Spring Break but that is about to end soon. I’ll be heading back to my university tomorrow afternoon. Not very excited to leave my hometown and most importantly my parents, but don’t have much of a choice.

Well, I have been thinking a lot lately and astonishingly coming to acceptable conclusions. God is finally providing answers. If you’re curious regarding the things I have been pondering about, then they are listed below (in no particular order):
Love and how it has affected my life
Importance of friends in my life
The amelioration of technology in the coming years
The possibility of everlasting life and my enthusiasm towards it
Past mistakes and regrets
The end of the world a.k.a. Armageddon
Other minor and major issues existent in this world

I know you most likely don’t care, but here are my views on them:

Being a proud Hindu, I believe in true love and soul-mate. Since I have moved to U.S.A, I have noticed few things which have, sometimes, assisted in making my belief on true love ever more strong while sometimes they have tried to manipulate me. I’m glad that I was able to control myself and never abandoned my own faith. I noticed my friends constantly getting in serious relationships and then breaking up some days/weeks/months later with several girls. I don’t think it is right. How can you love various girls in just matter of months or weeks or even days? What happened to all those commitments and promises? Giving that sort of relationship the name of ‘Love’ would be an insult to the purity of love. It’s called infatuation. Honestly, I have been in ‘love’ few times. Yes, I was naïve back then. It had always been one-way love though. I was never able to gather enough courage to ask the girls out or even attempt to discover their feelings towards me. Now, at this point, I know you’re thinking of me as a coward. You’re thinking that I wasn’t man enough to reveal my true feelings. That is absolutely not true. I believe in long-term relationship. Before even getting in a relationship, I considered my reaction and state of mind in case my girlfriend and I decided to break-up after some period of time. Will I ever be able to originate the same kind of feelings towards some other girl? Will those feelings be true? I concluded that those feelings wouldn’t be original and thus fake. Since then, I have decided never to let myself generate strong feelings for a particular girl unless I was planning to marry her in future or getting into some serious relationship. Otherwise, they just accumulate to a tremendous distraction factor. In this today’s world, many of the males/females of my age would like to contradict my points and previous statements. If you think you’re one of them, please feel free to leave comments or contact me. I would love to argue on the matter as it would only help me in expanding my thoughts and differentiate ideas.

Moving on...

Frankly, Americans are quite selfish. That being said, it is somewhat difficult to confide in a friend and make ‘best’ friends. I would like to add, at this point, that I don’t have any best friend, but numerous good friends. I do have few (American) friends that are completely trust-worthy and I know they will remain loyal to me in time of need. Though, I have realized few things. Friends are made along the way – in the journey of life – to isolate your loneliness and basically replace the reflection of parents (during parents’ absence). No matter how close of a friend you have, it is you who will make your destiny. It is you, if taken the wrong path due to poor associations, will suffer the consequences. It could be easily inferred that I am making references to Peer Pressure. I am determined not to let my friends take over my life and not necessarily let them make the decisions for me.

I desire to write more, I seriously do…but I must get some good sleep before I start slacking off on sleep once college starts... :Sigh: what a frustration…

Leave some comments...Good Night!

[ Listening to Children [Techno Remix] - Robert Miles Currently: Listening to Children [Techno Remix] - Robert Miles ]

Hello everyone,

Just thought i'd update. It's 5 o'clock in the morning and i have only slept for 4 hours in the last 2 days...crazy stuff.

The other night, plan to watch "King Kong" was postponed because few girls started whining about the length of the movie. :Sigh: Girls!!! 2a

Got Need for Speed: Most Wanted Black Edition! Freakin' awesome game! I have been playing it for last couple hours...so addictive. It's about same or better than Need for Speed: Underground 2. Of course, there are few minor differences, graphics are much cooler. When using Nitrous Oxide, the environment seems kinda windy and looks very real and awesome. Other racers are also very involved in the game, talking more trash than ever...which makes it better and challenging. I must admit that as much fun this game is, it also gets pretty irritating because so much time needed to finish it. I have spent more than 10 hours into it and only managed to complete 14% of the entire game...and i'm very good at this game! So yeah, you get the idea!

More and more movies:
Revenge of the Nerds: Heard about it from my friends, so had to watch it. Old, but pretty funny movie...
Hero: Two words - JET LI! Come on, how can you not like the movie? He's about the best Martial Arts actor...such an awesome movie.
Unleashed: Again, Jet Li! Pretty good movie...
Fist of Legend: One of my favorites, the ultimate Martial Arts fun...a must watch!
Out of Time: One of the worst movies of Denzel Washington...horrible plot. Get something else...
Starsky and Hutch: Pretty funny movie...gotta love Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn and better yet, Will Ferrell and Snoop Dogg. 1Happy "I know some people that know some people that robbed some people." "You dig?" 1p
Star Wars: Attack of the Clones: Not the best of the series for sure, but had nothing else to watch.
The Office: Season One [British Version]: It is seriously the funniest television show i have ever seen. If you've never seen, please go rent it or something. It will make your day much better, i promise!

There are some more but i can't remember...oh well!

Peter: I'll give you $40 for that coffin.
Store Owner: Sir, this casket is $1,000.
Peter: I'll give you $2,000.
Store Owner: Sir, that's double what it costs.
Peter: $60.
Brian [to the store owner]: He doesn't know how to haggle.

Random thought: iPod is one of the greatest inventions...ever!

Just in case if i don't write before 31st, Happy New Year! 1Happy

[ Reading Twelve Red Herrings - Jeffrey Archer Currently: Reading Twelve Red Herrings - Jeffrey Archer ]

Hi everyone,

How is everything? I just woke up and feeling pretty good. 1Happy

I received a mail from a friend (who lives in India) that one of my friend's dad has passed away. It made me very sad because we were pretty close friends.

Onto the brighter side of the entry...
So, last night i went to see "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" with couple of friends and must say that it was a pretty good movie. Some of the battle scenes reminded me of "Lord of the Rings Trilogy" though, they had almost the same kind of setting. Two stories:
1.) When the witch killed the lion, one of the kids started crying loudly and it was hilarious! I know you're probably thinking that i'm a horrible person, but that's not true. It was very unexpected.
2.) Around the end of the movie, in the war, the theater encountered some technical difficulties due to which the screen just went black for like 5 minutes. Since battles are always fun to watch, everyone was pretty pissed. The movie started playing after like 3 minutes, but it didn't play from where we left and basically we missed the entire 3 minutes which aggravated me. We were just getting comfortable when the same thing happened and it was even longer. We got furious and almost walked out of there to ask for our money back or something, but we waited. After about 7 minutes, the movie came back and it was normal for rest of the movie. Afterwards, i asked my friends if they wanted to go ask for reciprocation, but none of them were willing to ask. So, i went to the manager and explained the situation to him. He asked for our tickets and then went to his office. He came back with free movie passes for each of us. Remember, in America, whenever you have to complain about something or need to have a return on something, ALWAYS go straight to the manager. Never ever ask one of the employees for the same thing because of the two reason: they don't know much so most likely they'll just say "Sorry" and let you go and second, they don't care! Managers, on the other hand, get scared because if he hadn't done anything, there's a chance that i could go talk/write to someone who is superior to him and he could have gotten in lots of trouble. So, instead of making it a big deal, they'll always either pay your money back or give something of the equal value. So yeah, that was pretty exciting. Now that we have another movie to watch, we're thinking about going to see "King Kong" tonight, but nothing's for sure. So, let's see how it turns out!

Few other movies that i saw:
The Interpreter: Pretty good movie, ending wasn't as good but overall watchable movie.
2 Fast 2 Furious: Yes, i wacthed it again!
Kicking and Screaming: Enh..some good parts. Will Ferrel was kinda obnoxious but other that, kids were pretty funny.
Christmas With the Kranks: Some funny parts, overall okay movie. My parents and sister liked it very much, so definitely the kind of movie that your parents would like also...lol
Shall We Dance?: Not my kind of movie, so i didn't like it very much but again, rest of my family liked it a lot, so yeah...
Chocolate: Besides the fact that it's EXACTLY like "The Usual Suspects," the movie was well-made. I hate when they do make the ditto copy of a Hollywood movie. Sometimes, they'd change some things but Chocolate was a disappointment just because it was soo similar. Same start, same ending, even same dialouges. How ridiculous is that?
Apharan: Started out good and ended not as good. Okay movie though...
Deewane Huye Paagal: Few funny parts. Don't even think it's a sequel to "Awara Paagal Deewana." They are in NO way related to each other. The only thing that's same is that On Puri is Don in both of them and his role is only for like 30 minutes of the movie, in the start and in the end. I came to realize that Akshay Kumar is actually better in comedy roles than action/serious roles. Same goes for Aamir Khan. Don't you agree?
The Last of the Mohicans: Great movie...a must watch!
Kingdom of Heaven: Good movie but pretty boring at the same time..
Stealth: Good for timepass...okay movie. Jessica Biel is the only reason i watched it! ;)

I have been watching some episodes of "The Office" [American version] and certainly it's not even nearly as good as the British version. British version of "The Office" has to be the funniest T.V. show ever made! I would highly recommend you watch it if you ever get a chance. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Christmas break is going okay, i guess. I have been doing nothing but sleeping, eating, reading (yes, i do read!) and watching numerous movies! It's a lot of fun until your parents get mad at you for not doing anything else.
Well, i was going to write more, but i guess i'll do it some other time...

Enjoy a quote from "The Simpsons":

Marge: Homer, the plant called. They said if you don't show up tomorrow don't bother showing up on Monday.
Homer: Woohoo!! Four-day weekend!

New Post: It's just the beginning...

Currently Listening: Holi - Prasanna Shekhar - RGV Ki Aag
Opinion: It's actually a pretty good song, even though rest of the album is a waste.

My new school year resolutions:

Get in shape
Stop procrastinating
Do yoga
Keep up with classes
Update this blog

Out of the ones listed above, i am not so confident about the last one. However, i am determined to follow-up with the rest of the resolutions.
I am too fat and out of shape. I don't need to have 8-pack abs or even a 6-pack. Nor do i need a extremely muscular body with no signs of lipids at all. All i want is a flat stomach with pretty good biceps and an impressive chest. I used to look okay...that is until i went to India. I could not resist the delicious mithais and chocolates, and not to mention food made with shudh ghee. I will talk more about India in detail in my next post.

Today was first day of another college year. First week is always pretty laid back, even though some professors start lecturing on the first day. I am anticipating this year to be quite tough. With MCAT preparations, Medical schools applications, pressure of classes and on top of that the Microsoft Student Partner job that i took over the summer, i am only looking forward to my next trip to India :) . Teenagers always desire to grow up, to go to college, to be categorized under 'Adults,' yet they don't know that adolescence holds the best years of one's life. Less responsibility, less pressure, innocence and no drama. Life is as easy as it can get after younger years like 5 - 10 years. Till this day, i wish to get my childhood back. Woh the masti ke din, mauj ke din. I suppose this is how life works and those golden days are only medium for us to resort at the better life, the memorable life, the innocent life. More on that later...

Hey there,

How's it going? Well, my semester has been over and, to be honest, i'm currently wasting my Christmas Break. Tried to find a job for a month or so but couldn't find one with a decent pay. Oh well...so, here i am doing absolutely nothing the entire day but watching movies and hanging out with my family. Fun stuff!?

Well, i just watched Neal 'N' Nikki and thought i should orate my opinions to the Ugludians. 1Happy
Neal 'N' Nikki absolutely sucked! I can write a book as to how much this movie was out of place and shouldn’t even have been released because of the hackneyed plot and superfluous vulgarity. This has to be one of the most vulgar movies released in Bollywood along with Kya Kool Hain Him and Masti. It was understandable in the case of KKHH and Masti as audience has to expect that notion, but it’s totally different perspective in Yash Raj Films. It was an absolute disappointment as Yash Raj Films are rather famous for their spectacular plot and story line. This is the first movie I abhorred so much from the Yash Raj Production. Seriously, who walks around in bra (well, shirt’s buttons were opened and seemed like she wasn’t even wearing one) in the city through busy streets? I may understand if it was a beach setting or something but seriously...how ludicrous they want it to be? Though, I have to admit that Tanisha Mukherjee looked a lot hotter than the pictures that I had seen of her. Maybe it was because of all that exposure, but hey after watching the movie, I was coerced enough look for her forthcoming movies and latest wallpapers/images. Maybe that’s the catch. 5a02 Basically, Tanisha acted as a slut, who has no care for her future and firmly believes in Carpe Diem. Of course, the consumption of alcohol and cigarettes and use of curse words (english) in Hindi movies is on all-time high increase. What a shame! If you want to see hot blonde chicks, lots of non-stop cleavages, non-funny stupid dialogues and basically bunch of crap put together, then STOP reading this post and run towards your nearest theater now! That's not to say i don't like watching those in movies, but not in Indian movies at the least...it just doesn't fell right, you know. With that being said, i would be reiterating when pointing out that this is not the kind of movie you would want to watch with your parents, unless you’re in mood for few lectures on how Bollywood is emerging on the same path as Hollywood and new-age directors don’t have any decency left.

List of other movies, as usual:
The Aviator: Awesome movie...a must-watch if you get time!
2 Fast 2 Furious: I was bored, so i had to watch it for like 25th time for the sake of refreshment...this movie rocks!
Spider-Man II - Same comment as above!
Boyz N Da Hood - Another representation of African-American people living on low-life budget in a ghetto neighborhood and yet another spectacular, motivational movie!
Shaadi No. 1 - Wasn't good, but i don't expect much from Hindi movies now a days anyways.
The Cinderella Man: Oh man, this is one fabolous movie! Very inspirational...a must-watch also.
Brothers' Grimm: Okay, good for time pass...some funny parts.
Leon - The Professional: Pretty good movie...worth a watch!
Tombstone: Pretty good Western action movie...worth a watch!
Harold and Kumar go to White Castle: Okay, only few funny parts..i expected it to be funnier, but oh well!
Where's the Party, Yaar?: Nice effort, worth a watch for sure...especially for people overseas.
Dumb and Dumber: Old movie but extremely hilarious! Had seen it before...definitely recommended.
The Mummy: Awesome movie...just about as good as its sequel "The Mummy Returns"...a must watch!
Sum of All Fears: Watched it for the third time, good movie...worth a watch for sure.
Zathura: Seemed a lot like Jumanji and also it sucked. I would recommend watching Jumanji instead of this.
Malibu's Most Wanted: Wow! I didn't expect much from this movie, but it turned out to be very good. Few funny parts and loved the actor's acting!
Neal 'N' Nikki: Did you miss out on my ranting earlier? shoot3
Dukes of Hazzard - Unrated: I know i said this was a horrible movie and now you're thinking "Then, why again, Abhinav?" Well, this is what happened: My friend received the Unrated version of DoH for Christmas (Yeah, it was pretty early Christmas gift) and so he was excited to see Jessica Simpson nude, albeit i told him that it would be just some random college chicks naked. Of course, he didn't believe me, thus in order to disprove him, i had to watch it again! And guess what? I was right! It was just some random naked sorority girls...it was kinda worth it though. 2a

I'm sure some movies are missing from the list, but this is enough for this entry.

On an ending note, enjoy this quote from "Family Guy":

LaDonne: Hi, gorgeous man!
Stewie Griffin: Oh, you...Must I lock up your tongue with the rest of the silver?
LaDonne: Stewie, this is Jeremy!
Jeremy: Hey, little man!
[pats him on the head]
Jeremy: So you're the guy who's been trying to steal my girlfriend!
Stewie Griffin: Wha- you- Girlfriend? Oh, what kind of sick, twisted game are you playing at?
LaDonne: Stewie sounds a little cranky. I'll put him to bed.
[picks him up]
Stewie Griffin [Takes Jeremy's hat as he's carried away]: Ha! I've got your hat! Take that, Hatless! Now go back to the quad and resume your hacky-sack tournee! I'm not going to lie down for some frat-boy bastard with his damn Teva sandals and his Skoal bandits and his Abercrombie & Fitch long-sleeved, open-stitch, crew-neck Henley smoking his sticky-buds out of a soda can while watching his favorite downloaded "Simpsons" episodes every night! Yes, we all love "Mr. Plow." Oh, you've got the song memorized, do you? SO DOES EVERYONE ELSE! That is *exactly* the kind of idiot you see at Taco Bell at one in the morning! The guy who just whiffed his way down the bar-skank ladder!

1p 1p 1p Gets me every time!

Well folks, due to the lack of productivity during this Christmas Break, i shall be posting more often. I hope y'all are looking forward to it! Leave some comments...

Nov. 26, 2005

I will be writing few posts i had written long time ago, so i can have an archive on this site:

From Nov. 26, 2005:

[ Listening to Tremble [CJ Stone Mix] - Marc Et Claude Currently: Listening to Tremble [CJ Stone Mix] - Marc Et Claude ]

Hi all,

Little update over how i passed my Thanksgiving break..

Monday: Nothing special happened, pretty busy day mostly. Helped a friend with his computer problems but yeah, that was about the only fun thing i did the entire day.

Tuesday: Day was going okay until my friend, with whom i was supposed to go back home, called and told me that he has already left with another one of his friends and totally forgot to call me earlier. That seemed pretty stupid reason, but there was nothing i could do, so didn't think much about the issue and tried to find another ride. Luckily, one of my friends was leaving the next morning, so everything worked out well in the end.

Wednesday: Day started out taking a crappy math test, but then it was Thanksgiving Break... 1Happy. I tried to get over that test and began thinking about rest of the week, which was going to be awesome! Got home late evening and didn't really do anything.

Thursday: I did absolutely nothing! I helped my parents out with some stuff and that's about it. All my friends were busy with their family get-togethers and what not, so thursday seemed like a waste.

Friday: My parents wanted to go shopping with all those crazy people who were willing to stand in a checkout line for 3 freakin' hours. They asked me to go as well (it was about 5 in the morning, so yeah...), but i undoubtedly declined their offer and went back to my precious dreams. Woke up at 12, only to find out that parents have bought bunch of stuff (that they probably don't need...). I was given the list of things to do, like to assemble tables and such... 4a017. I did some of the work and left some for today. Last night was crazy though! Went to my friend's party at about 6 PM and didn't get back till 1 AM. It was great! I got to see few of my closest friends from high school and we caught up on each other's lives. Good times...good times!

Saturday: Not much eventful. I will be leaving tomorrow, which sucks a lot. But anyway, tried to finish some of the other work and worked on some homeworks (yeah, on the break!). It's weird...i feel sad going back to college this time. Usually, i won't care, but i guess seeing soo many friends brought back some good memories, that i want to relive, even though it's impossible. Oh, i also had some 2-3 hours of spiritual conversation with one of my friends, which was pretty cool. Now, here i am, writing my journal for the week.

I watched lots of movies, as usual. Here they are:
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - Awesome movie, almost as good as the first one...go see it now!
Meet the Fockers - definetely not as good as the first one...
Garam Masala - Started out good, but ended horribly and some stupid scenes...
Half Baked - What can i say? It's Dave Chappelle...of course, it was hilarious!
Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid - Movie totally sucked, wouldn't recommend it at all.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - Nothing much to see, wouldn't recommend it either.
Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander - One of the most motivational movies (in all aspects) and i really wanted to see it after like 10 or so years.
Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayengein - Awesome movie...!
13 Going on 30 - Didn't have much expectations from this one, so yeah...the movie sucked!
White Chicks - Hell no!

Well, that's about it, folks! I shall be getting back to doing some more homeworks and live on with my life...

Enjoy this quote from "Family Guy":

Guy on Airplane: Oh great, I always end up sitting next to a damn baby.
Stewie: What did you just say?
Lois: Stewie, stop fussing.
Stewie: Pipe down Lois! [Slaps guy on head.] Hey big man, turn around! Oh you can't hear me now! I was going to watch the movie, but forget it! For the next 5 hours, you're my bitch!

Don't do anything that i won't...hehe
